Back to Netball
Thinking of getting back into netball, or trying it for the first time? England Netball's "Back to Netball" scheme could be for you!
Run by passionate coaches, sessions cover the basics of the game and often finish with some friendly match play so that you can put your newly-acquired skills into practise.
It doesn’t matter if you haven’t played since school or don’t know the rules, the sessions are participant focused and therefore are adapted to you. Whether it is about rediscovering sporting abilities that you forgot you had, or about getting active again, these sessions cater for all abilities and, with our friendly coaches on hand, you’ll be an expert in no time. Sessions are usually pay and play, so there is no pressure to commit - just turn up and have a go!
We have mums and daughters, groups of friends, work colleagues and individuals attending our sessions, so absolutely everyone is welcome.
Join the other 60,000 women from across the country who have found their way back on to court and find a session near you today! We have over 20 sessions running across the Avon County area; click here to see an updated list.
There are always new sessions in the pipeline and plenty of friendly clubs in Avon too, so if you can’t find a suitable Back to Netball session near you, click here to contact the Avon Netball Development Officer, Emily Harrison, who will be more than happy to help.
Skylarks NC began as a group of "Back to Netball-ers" who formed and entered a team into the Avon league, achieving promotion from Division 11 up to Division 6. With a second team also now playing in the league, the foundations of future success have been firmly laid for Skylarks.
Hayesfield Hurricanes are another former Back to Netball team, who have entered their first team into the league for the 2015/16 season, and comfortably won their first match in Division 11. They achieved league status with the assistance of Emily Harrison, who supported them when applying to England Netball's Adult Club Starter Fund to help launch them as a more sustainable club.
